This past year was a year of change, growth, learning and lots of love!
As I continued working in Haiti with the children at the a few different orphanages it became clear to me that God had bigger plans in store for my journey in missions. He had been preparing me for these changes that I was not able to envision until it was upon me. I left the safety of an organization to take a huge leap of faith with my dear friend and partner in missions, Amanda Armstrong.
Amanda and I have been traveling to Haiti every 3 months to care for and oversee things at 2 orphanages which was at times very overwhelming.
Through a series of changes within our hearts and lives, it became clear to us that we were needed in a specific area of ministry that was very dear to our hearts, the Freedom House.
The Freedom House is loaded with 25 amazing kids that I can’t help but think of as part of my own family. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about and pray for each sweet face that my heart has fallen deeply in love with.
With great support from our friends, family and churches we are able to effectively continue to oversee operations at the Freedom House in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. This area is located just outside the capital city of Port-au-Prince. We continue to travel to Haiti every 3 months and work effortlessly throughout the year stateside to continue raising awareness for restaveks (child slaves), as well as funding for the Freedom House and other various programs we have organized or help such as the “Bucket of Hope” program for pregnant mothers in Haiti.
These programs are designed to give HOPE to the people of Haiti, the people I love so dearly.
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
